off to a good start

Just got back from a HIIT session at the gym. My ipod battery was in the red so I was a little bit nervous that it wouldn’t make it this morning but it did.

I have such psychological issues with the gym, I dont go for months because for some reason I am fearful of having achy muscles or something like that. then I go and I wonder why I haven’t been for months because I actually really  like it.

I’m not sure that I believe this 20 minute HIIT thing every second day. It doesn’t feel like enough – I feel like I should be doing more. But I also realise that I need to give it a chance and not just for two weeks either – for at least a month. If I’m not losing after a month (not only will I be going mental with frustration) but I will need to up the cardio. I might even cheat and do an RPM class once per week – it is based on HIIT principles after all.

I do need to make sure that I don’t burn myself out though – it’s all about easing into it slowly, building up my fitness levels and focusing on staying committed.

Food Update

Well work lunch = difficult! Especially when turkish Food isn’t the most healthy. the amount of grease in that food is phenomenol. So we arrived and I found a really nice looking salad and chicken. then when the bosses arrived the unanimous decision was that we would get a banquet – so there went my healthy choice. Turns out that the food is so filling that I didn’t need to eat any dinner – lucky!  Before lunch I had consumed about 500cal for the day and I reckon that the lunch was at least 800 cal – which still makes for a not too bad day at 1200 cal – not the healthiest of balance though! Because of the number of ‘events’ this week (xmas lunch on Friday and family gathering on Sunday) I’m planning to not have a free day this week. I have to say though that it still feels strange to be eating this much food – even though I know that I am at around 1300 cal per day. The results at the end of a month should be interesting.
